About the director:

Too Fabulous To Fail is a fast paced farce set in New York City, with a core main cast and then many one scene/background characters. This will allow for customizable cast size and a low scale budget, as there is no need for intricate sets due to the frequent scene changes.

The story follows Carly, a bight eyed relentlessly optimistic new arrival in New York. She has dreams of becoming a musical actress star, and lives her life as if she is in one. A lot of the comedy derives from her trying to love by musical tropes, breaking into song and trying to choreograph musical numbers as the rest of the cast look on with bewilderment. The plot follows her trials and tribulation in the big city and her ill-fated position as a temp in an investment bank.

About the course:

Jonathan Shortall has been a theatre practioncer for nearly a decade. A recent arrival to Maastricht, he has filled every production role imaginable back in his native home of Dublin. An accomplished director, writer and theatre educator, he has experience staging productions of every variety and type.
